7 (Very Random) Facts About Me

1.  I am currently addicted to AMC’s The Walking Dead.

2.  I’m a night owl.  I’ve never been able to fall asleep early and get up early very easily, which makes living in a morning bird world difficult.

3.  Gum chewing is one of my pet peeves, especially when people smack their lips, pop it or chew with their mouths open.  I don’t know why, but it just rubs me the wrong way.

4.  The first time I read the Harry Potter series I also read it backwards from #6-1.  Why?  Because I’m stubborn and can be a complete idiot, that’s why.

5.  I generally rank politicians low on my Respectable/Trustworthy People Scale, somewhere between tabloid journalists and used car salesmen.

6.  When it comes to spending, I have two weaknesses: Books (obviously) and jewelry.

7.  I may live in Canada, but I really, really hate the snow and the cold.

The People I’m Nominating:

Honestly, I just put down whatever came into my head. You’re more concise than I’ll ever be, so I might as well be ‘random’ and occasionally ‘interesting’.

Really? All I did was click the link on one of your old comments and saw the post on jameskennedybeijing that the domain had been moved. I guess I just got lucky.

Thanks! Also, don’t worry that your book disappeared from my In Progress list. It just means that I’ve finished it and am going to write the review soon. 🙂

I am in love with AMC’s The Walking Dead — it’s a great show! I tried to follow through on reading the comics, but they’re not for me. Have you tried reading them? (Personally, I think the show much better all-around.)

    Thank you for the nomination!

I don’t see why or how the comics might ruin the show for someone, to be honest. In the least, it didn’t ruin the show for me. The show is based on the comics, which is why I began reading them, yet the two mediums differ greatly and I find it interesting to see the deviations. I don’t see myself reading past volume four, however.

I find that if I’ve watched a movie, reading the book just confuses me because the book is usually better. I think the comics would be that way. But either way, I watch the show purely as entertainment; that’s why I don’t read the comics. The thing is, I don’t want to see how the mediums differ and the character deviations. I just want to enjoy it without constantly comparing the two.

Thank You for the nomination Carrie :). I laughed when you said you hate the cold. I’m somewhere in between hating it and loving it. Loving it because I get to play with my dog in the snow and hating because of all the black ice and the snowplows that make me break snowbanks with a pitch fork. I haven’t seen The Walking Dead but I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. Maybe I will check it out sometime!

I’ve always hated the cold, ever since I was in elementary school and the teachers booted us outside in -30 Celsius weather. I just like being warm; I always have. As for The Walking Dead, if you don’t mind a little gore, I would recommend it!

Congrats on the award Carrie! You’re still better than me when it comes to the Harry Potter series, I haven’t even read the books yet.

Really? You should, provided you start reading them with a pretty open mind. It’s hard to read books that are so popular objectively, but it’s better if you try. 🙂
