The Mad Reviewer Challenge Check In #2

Yes folks, it’s the end of August which means there are only four more months left to finish The Mad Reviewer Reading & Reviewing Challenge.  We’re already two thirds of the way through 2013 if you can believe it.  I know I can’t.

As some of my regular readers may have noticed, my progress bar has not moved at all in weeks.  Obviously from my reviews this is not because I haven’t been reading but rather because I want to be a little more selective in the books I”m counting toward my challenge.  I want to be able to say that I read and reviewed 1000+ page novels for my challenge rather than count books that are only 100-200 pages.  As someone who reads a lot, I have the luxury of doing this.

So what I’m curious about is this: if you’re participating, where are you in my challenge?  Have you finished yet?  Are you thinking of upgrading?  Would you be interested in participating in my reading and reviewing challenge next year?

I’m at 87 of 104 and I’ve not been counting novellas or shorter books either because I read a lot also. I would have finished a few months ago if I had been lol! I would totally do it again. It’s good to see just how many books I’m actually reading and reviewing, even if knowing makes me feel like some kind of crazy book-a-holic 🙂

That’s awesome! Congratulations on your progress and I hope I see you for the challenge next year. Anytime you do finish the challenge, send me an email through my contact page so I can verify all of the reviews. That way I can enter your name right away before all the rush of procrastinating reviewers in the last few days of December. 🙂

(expressions of shock and awe) Over 1000 pages!! I hardly ever get into those. Maybe I used to, but now that’s just too long for me. Well done! It might be fun to participate next year. I was updating my Goodreads Challenge for this year, and wondering what to do for next… and there’s still three months to go!

I would love it if you could participate next year! There’s so many different levels and I’m very open about what people can read for their challenges. As long as it’s a novel and not a novella or short story, I’m cool with it. 🙂

I believe I’m at 17/26 reviews? I think I should be able to meet the goal by December, no problem (: This fall is actually the last quarter I’m attending school, and I should have a year-long break before going back. More time to read with less interference! I’m really looking forward to it, so if you host another Mad Reviewer Challenge, I’m in.
